Selecting the right package depends mainly on two factors: the number of people in your home who will be connected to the Internet at the same time, and the purposes for which you use it. Paying bills or sending e-mails require low download speeds, while telecommuting or online gaming require much higher speeds for optimal service. When you make an appointment with us, we’ll recommend a package that’s right for you.

Once at your home, the Fibre Argenteuil installation technician will install a fiber optic cable in the termination box, usually located near the electric meter, and bring it into your house. To do this, the technician will drill a hole in the outside wall for the fiber, and then make sure the hole is properly caulked. Inside the house, the fiber will be connected to a modem (ONT), and a router will then be installed to broadcast the signal into your home. The installation technician will ensure that the equipment is working properly and that network coverage is optimized. If you’d like to subscribe to telephone or TV service, the installation technician will then install these services for you.

Normally, in such cases, the meter is located on a pole far from the house, and the electrical wires are buried. The fiber optic termination box will therefore be installed at the last electric pole marking the beginning of the cable burial. When the equipment is installed, the installation technician will connect to the termination box and install the fiber optic cable in the telecom conduit to your home. The installation fee covers up to 325 meters of fiber optic cable. If the distance between the termination box and the terminal exceeds 325 meters, you will be charged for the additional distance of the fiber used.

If it is located in an area served by the new fiber optic network, new constructions can generally be added to the project plans. In special cases, however, a feasibility analysis may be required. Service availability will sometimes be delayed for new constructions, since they were not originally planned as part of the project. Contact our customer service department at 450 409-2012 so that we can carry out the necessary checks.
You must contact our technical support at 450 409-2012 #2. If you are responsible for the breakage, you will be responsible for the cost of replacing the fiber optic cable. Otherwise, the cost of network maintenance and repairs is covered by Fibre Argenteuil up to the termination box at each residence. This box acts as a demarcation point and is, in most cases, installed near your home’s electricity meter. From this point to the inside of your home, any repairs required are automatically at your expense. You are also responsible for any repairs to fiber optics buried on your property, even if the termination box is located on your house.
